Education
Since August of 1979 Family Outreach Center, Inc. has dedicated itself to the provision of services that strengthen family life for its targeted populations. Over the years we have come to recognize the importance of investing in the lives of children, youth, and families to ensure a healthier future. These parenting and specialized classes have been adopted and developed with that investment in mind. It is hoped that those who attend and complete these classes will be better prepared to ensure a healthier family life for themselves and their children. Funds for these classes are provided through Network 180 and the Michigan Department of Human Services, and Kent County 17th Circuit Court Family Division.
Confident Parenting
Participants must have a substantiated Children's Protective Services (CPS) case and be economically disadvantaged (150% of the Federal Poverty Levels). This ten- (10) week, two- (2) hour series of classes teaches parents effective procedures for child management. The successful participant will learn to discipline while maintaining healthy, positive, nurturing relationships with their child. Participants must be referred by a therapist, case manager, case aide, or CPS worker. To request more information about classes, please call (616) 247-3815 or email us at: info@familyoutreachcenter.org
