Project C.H.I.L.L.

Project C.H.I.L.L. (Children Receiving Help in Living and Learning) is an after-school and summer enrichment program for children between the ages of 6 and 12 whose parent(s) or caregiver(s) are involved in counseling services at Family Outreach Center or another community-based counseling, case management, or another Substance Abuse Treatment agency. CHILL is specifically designed to reduce the impact of parental or caregiver mental illness or dysfunction on the life and functioning of the children in their care. The long-term objective of the program is to provide a community-based support system and safety net for these children at a critical stage in their development. The intended end-result is to reduce the likelihood of these children becoming involved with the mental health system as clients in the future.

Eligibility:

Families with children residing in Kent County. Children whose parents are receiving community-based counseling services.

Funding:

Funding is provided by Network 180, the Heart of West Michigan United Way, and the generosity of corporate donors and private individuals.
