Anger ManagementFamily Outreach Center's Taking Charge of Anger classes are designed to help individuals learn new ways to identify, control and express their verbal, physical and/or emotional reactions to people and/or situations in their everyday situations. These classes are offered exclusively for pre-trial felons, probationers and parolees identified by bthe 17th Judicial Circuit Court and Court Services. Participants must be referred by their probation/parole officer and all refferals will recieve an assessment to determine their appropiateness for the class. Classes are ten (10) weeks with each class running ninety (90) minutes. Class topics include:

A pre and post-test will be given to all participants to measure the impact of the material presented. The classes are designed to be interactive and will allow the participant to demonstrate how the information is becoming a part of their daily thinking and behavioral responses. Successful completion of the class will include demonstrating mastery of the skills taught in addition to the pre and post-test. Progress reports and termination reports will be provided to the participant's probation or parole officer. Limited counseling services will be available to those participants who would appear to benefit and are agreeable to outpatient counseling services.
